Three car insurance dodgers were caught by the police on Friday, due to their number plates. Officers from the Woodside and Ashburton safer neighbourhood teams(SNTs) caught the uninsured drivers during an operation in Portland Road on September 9. Another four drivers were slapped with fixed penalty notices for driving without insurance or invalid number plates, while a further 21 were stopped by police. The latest Popemobile has been unveiled ahead of the Pontiff's visit to the UK - a Mercedes with an average speed of 6mph. The M class vehicle - with space for the Pope to stand and wave at the crowd - will be driven by a so far unnamed British driver.
