The DVLA recently held their 30th Anniversary sale and it was an Irish plate that became the star of the show. IG 1 went under the hammer and sold for £222,000 making it the most expensive Irish plate ever to be sold and the 3rd most expensive plate to be sold at a DVLA auction. DVLA Auction a huge success

  The recent DVLA auction was a huge success with 367 registrations meeting their reserve price and the grand total made at end of business being £2873950. The five prices were £44,000 for 20 O, £17,800 for 3 SJ, £15,000 93 M,  £15,000 for PO11 OCK and £14,000 for 1 LJW.  The auction took place from 22nd to 24th May and a mere 153 marks remaining unsold. The DVLA recently auctioned off over 1500 desirable number plates raising a total of £2603800 with an average sale price of £1735-87. The plate that went for the highest price was 18 O. It's no surprise that this went for a whopping £50,000, short plates like this are always highly sought after.
