Dateless were originally released prior to the suffix plates and whilst they have been discontinued on the mainland, Northern Ireland still issue dateless plates (these can be seen as a Northern Irish number plate by them having an I or a Z in them). Northern Irish plates are still valid on the mainland and are a great way to get BAZ, DAZ and CHZ type number plates.
