It’s the Fourth of July, American Independence Day, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The day is celebrated in style all over the US with extravagant parades, parties and firework displays.  More barbecues are lit on the fourth of July in America than on any other day of the year. That certainly sounds like a fun way to celebrate. Love hot dogs? Then you’ll love the Fourth of July Hot Dog eating contest that’s been held every year since 1916. You have ten minutes to eat as many hot dogs (with buns) as you can in 10 minutes. The current record stands at 72, so that should take some beating!
