DVLA Number plates relate to the make your own Personalised Number Plates, issued by the DVLA in Swansea. There are four main types of DVLA Number Plates: Dateless :  DVLA Number Plates issued to vehicles before 1963, which as the name suggests are dateless, e.g : 40 HXK  Suffix :  DVLA Number Plates are 3 letters followed by  1, 2 or 3 numbers followed by 1 letter, they were issued between 1963 and 1982 eg: CAS 860A Prefix :  DVLA Number Plates a letter followed by 1 ,2 or 3 numbers followed by 3 letters, they were issued between 1983 and 2001, e.g : K81 RAN Current Style: DVLA Number Plates that are 2 letter followed by 2 digit followed by three letters. The digits relates to the year the vehicle was registered. E.g  MR61 ACK. It is important to note that you can not make your vehicle look younger, however you can make your vehicle look older. For example you can not transfer a AA52 ABC onto an S registered vehicle, however you could transfer  S25 ABC onto your 52 registered vehicle.
